Here we have a played but cool Fender King guitar from 1963.
The Fender King acoustic guitar was introduced in 1963 and produced until 1966, making it one of Fender's early ventures into acoustic guitar manufacturing. This model was part of the company's effort to expand beyond electric guitars, which had been their primary focus. Designed by Roger Rossmeisl, a luthier with prior experience at Gibson and Rickenbacker, the King was a dreadnought-style acoustic with features influenced by Fender's electric guitar designs. These included bolt-on necks and Stratocaster-style headstocks, reflecting Fender's innovative approach to acoustics.
This example has what appears to be a changed nut, but the rest of the instrument is original. Frets show even wear that does not affect playability - there is plenty of life left to keep on keepin' on.
The neck is straight and the truss rod has room for future neck relief adjustments. There is one repaired crack on the upper shoulder/side of the guitar- see the pics.
The case is beat up, intended to get the guitar to you safely. It is period correct, but it definitely isn't original to the guitar.
