This gorgeous guitar is a late 1800s /early 1900s Washburn New Model, stamped inside on a back brace as a Style 208.

Note the fancy Waverly tuners with fancy Handel buttons, as seen on Martin guitars of the period.  The tuners themselves are quite valuable.

This x braced beauty is in amazingly well preserved condition.  Somewhat miraculously, there is just one side crack, which has not been touched or repaired.

The guitar is likely a one-off "presentation" piece, built and adorned for some sort of exposition.  This definitely isn't your run-of-the-mill guitar!

There is some wear of course - two small pieces of the ornate bridge are missing.  A section of neck binding has also gone astray.

The frets are assumed to be original, and they're in excellent condition.  The neck does need a reset to make the guitar ready for daily play, but it is playable as it sits.  This isn't going to be an everyday player, so we're going to sell it as-is.

The build of the guitar is light and the instrument is incredibly resonant.

The woods are exquisite - look at the Brazilian Rosewood back and sides!

The guitar will ship in an older but not original chipboard case.  We will double-box it for shipment.
