I was immediately attracted to this very cool looking 1968 ES-335 and found that I dug it even more when I started playing it.  The neck is really chunky - much more substantial than any 1968 335 I've laid my hands on.  The thickness at the first fret is .92 inches - like a '58 reissue Les Paul.

I'm not certain because Gibson couldn't confirm it, but I think this may have been a custom ordered guitar.  They do have access to ledgers that would confirm or deny this, but apparently you need to know someone there to get at that info.

The Custom engraved truss rod cover could very well have been added to the guitar, but it does look the same age as the rets of the guitar and parts.  I thought that perhaps the neck and/or Bigsby were custom ordered features, but who knows.

The tuners were obviously changed at some point.  The rest of the guitar is original, down to the potentiometers.

This guitar plays like a dream with very low action.  It does have a twist to the neck however, which of course we have to disclose.  We experimented with different setups once we caught the fact that the twist was there.  We couldn't get the guitar to buzz or fret out until we got to extremes of low action, way lower than anyone would ever use.  You'd never know when playing the guitar that the twist is present.  If anything, it makes it more playable as the twist slightly opens the neck to your hand.  The neck has likely been this way for decades.

The original hard case is included.
