This beautiful 1966 Gibson J-50 came to us just as you see it - beautifully clean and vibrant. The bridge was very slightly lifting on arrival, so I had it professionally addressed. The neck set is perfect and the action is as well. The truss rod was also checked to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustments. All the parts are original, as is the finish and the sweet original case.
Discover classic American acoustic tone with this vintage 1966 Gibson J-50 ADJ, a slope-shoulder dreadnought that embodies the golden era of Gibson craftsmanship. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, this J-50 features a solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and Gibson’s signature adjustable bridge saddle, offering both tonal versatility and easy setup adjustment.
The J-50 is the natural-finished sibling of the iconic J-45, favored by folk, rock, and country artists for its warm, mid-focused tone and excellent projection. This 1966 model delivers sweet, balanced acoustic character with the dry, woody response vintage players love — ideal for fingerstyle, strumming, and singer-songwriter applications.
This example is in excellent vintage condition, with a beautifully aged top, original components including tuners and bridge, and a perfectly functional adjustable bridge system. The neck features a comfortable mid-‘60s Gibson profile, and the guitar plays cleanly across the board with great action. Whether you’re a collector or a working musician, this J-50 ADJ is a true tone machine with history, vibe, and soul.
