SOLD - Frank Brothers Arcade 2018 Tortoise Headstock and Binding

I've been interested in getting my hands on one of these for quite some time, and my curiosity was pleasantly rewarded.  What a fine guitar!  

Attention to detail is apparent throughout.  Wood selection is impeccable.  The fit and finish is top notch.  The small-ish feeling guitar has a feeling of substance and quality right out of the case, and the guitar is firmly resonant when played acoustically.  The neck profile feels fantastic - they nailed the shape - and the fretwork is perfect.

This quality approach is featured in the woodwork - the diamond volute, the pickup and control cavity routing, and even small things like the brass threaded inserts for the cavity control cover.  Even the case is head and shoulders above others.

This particular guitar received their upgraded Tortoise headstock overlay and binding, which compliments the lush, white top finish extremely well.  The finish on the top has begun to check - there is one line in particular from the neck pickup to the edge of the guitar, foreshadowing a future of cool factor.

It appears that the pickups are changed, though Lollars seem to be original in some Frank Brothers guitars.  The solder work does seem to be changed from original, but whomever was in there did a good job.  The pickups suit the guitar well, and the variety of sounds you can get by blending volumes and adjusting tone controls while in the mid position is awesome. 

The rest of the guitar is original, the frets show only the lightest wear and the certificate of authenticity is in the case.  I also dig the compensated wrap around tailpiece with the locking studs, which I am sure adds to the tone and sustain.
