Wayne Charvel is well known in the guitar business, having shared his skill for ages, building guitars for some kind-of famous people like Eddie Van Halen.

Wayne moved to our area of Northern California quite a while back, hand-building guitars with his Wayne logo like this custom Telecaster.

When I happened upon it I was immediately drawn to it, being a semi-hollow Telecaster. While Wayne is definitely famous for his more unique designs, I've found quite a few of these Fender style custom guitars floating around the area and all of them have been ringers.

The guitar made the under-7-pound cut, which isn't too bad for a Tele with a solid maple top.  And check out that quilt maple - it really is something else!  All the woods are premium - a beautiful ash body, rich ebony fretboard and a vibrant birdseye maple neck.

The parts are quality as well, though I can't say exactly what the pickups are as they aren't labeled.  They sound just as they should, however.

Frets show little wear, and the guitar overall is in excellent condition with some dings and wear but no signs of abuse.

The guitar set up and plays well.  There are no repairs or changes.  We checked the truss rod and found that is is fully loosened, so there is no room to add relief to the neck, so it might not play all that well with 9 gauge strings.  It works great with the 10-46 strings we installed prior to setting the guitar up.  A hard case is included.

You'll see the Wayne Charvel pencil mark on the neck heel, and the body was dated to 2002.
