I knew exactly what to expect from this Danelectro Artist Series D Model 78A amp when I stumbled into it at a recent guitar show. There is something about these amps that really shines - they have a punchy "chug" to their tone that reacts percussively when palm muting, and they overdrive easily. They look pretty damn cool too.
This example is in excellent shape. The transformers are original. The onboard tremolo is pretty sweet. We threw in a new footswitch to turn it on and off. The handle appears to be a reproduction, and someone installed a grounded power cable.
The speaker is a somewhat recent Weber replacement.
We tested all the tubes, and I personally tested this one out for a while - I simply couldn't resist.
This is the best amp out there for $1000. Period.

We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure. Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently. Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.
