This 1989 Mesa Boogie Mark III Blue Stripe DG is a highly sought-after version of Mesa’s legendary high-gain amplifier series, housed in a stunning custom Imbuya hardwood cabinet with wicker grille.

Known for its aggressive voicing, the Blue Stripe delivers rich cleans, searing leads, and tight overdrive that defined '80s and '90s rock tones. 

The DG version offers expanded tonal shaping with the graphic EQ and offers the Simul Class switch that allows for class A and class AB operation, making it ideal for studio and stage use.

The fourth revision of the Mark III was the "Blue Stripe" version, which featured a blue marker stripe above the power cord. The lead channel was voiced so brightly, it is considered to be the most aggressive Mark Series Boogie ever introduced. The presence cap and voltage rating of some of the orange drops in the power section were also altered to mirror that of the IIC+.  

What a lot of people don't realize about these amps is that they have great clean headroom and warmth in addition to their well-known gain.

The cabinet has seen some travel for sure - it wasn't babied!  The amp works perfectly.  We tested all the tubes and ran it through its paces.

When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping.  We remove the chassis from some amps so that the large transformers don't damage a chassis or cabinet.  We remove heavy speakers from some amps so they don't damage baffles.  These cases result in multiple box shipments, and they require the buyer to do some assembly on delivery.  We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure.  Vintage amps are sold as-is because they can need service intermittently.  Everything is tested here in our shop on the way into our inventory, and again before shipping.  We will cover shipping damage, but we cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in 20-to-50-plus year old amps. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
