D'Angelico Premier SS 2009 Black Single Cutaway Semi Hollow

It took me a while to find other D'Angelico guitars like this 2009 Premier SS.  There are many like it with F holes, but not so many with the sealed top.

The guitar is semi hollow, and with the sealed top it is a versatile instrument that better resists feedback over one with f holes while retaining the warmth and tone of a hollowbody.  

The guitar was part of a large collection we recently acquired.  Most of the guitars were unplayed after being purchased new.  As you can see from the closeup of the frets, that is the case with this guitar.  

The one flaw with this guitar is the distinctive tips of the headstock.  The two scrolled tips had cracked in storage.  We glued them up and they seem stable.  

We performed a setup after restringing the guitar with 10-46 strings.  We checked the truss rod to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustments.  The guitar plays well and represents a really great value.
