I've seen this 1958 Fender Stratocaster before!  It's a really good one - it is good to have it back!

This truly fine guitar came out of the Sacramento, CA area years ago and made its way to the Pacific Northwest, where it resided for years.  I picked it up from this previous owner in 2020.  He and I because good friends, so the transaction was a win/win.  He had the guitar refretted by Mike Lull years ago, prior to Mike's passing.  It was refretted again while in the possession of the last owner.

I then sold the guitar to a friend from Auburn, CA.  This brought it back to the Sacramento area, and another good friend was made in the process.  I don't have to become your friend if you buy this guitar, but if history again repeats itself, you might just be stuck with me.  I'm not clingy, however, so you can buy the guitar and decline my friendship with no hard feelings.

The open character of the original pickups is amazing.  A 5-way switch was professionally installed without disturbing any other solder in the electronics.  The original switch is in the original case.  The electronics all work perfectly.

The frets are larger than stock, and the extra height gives a great feel.  There is little wear on the frets.  The guitar set up well with 10-46 gauge strings. The truss rod is very close to fully loosened, but there is relief and the setup is just about perfect.  A fret swap back to original size frets with smaller tangs would likely offer more relief adjustment, but the work is not needed to enjoy the guitar as it is.  The original nut was shimmed slightly to adjust to the new frets.

No other modification to the neck has been performed, and no changes have been made to the body.  The hardware is all original.  The original pickguard cracked years ago and is included in the original case.  The original trem arm and bridge cover are included.

The finish is in excellent overall condition - the guitar is definitely cleaner than most you'll encounter.  There is light, close checking throughout, on the body and the neck.  The color in the sunburst is strong, with the red in the sunburst very present.
