This 1965 Gibson ES-335 is a stunner with strong cherry color and very little wear.  It is a transitional model that has the wider 1 11/16" nut that players look for while bearing mostly chrome hardware with the exception of the nickel ABR-1 bridge.  Later 1965 examples have a 1 9/16" nut and all chrome hardware.

This is a fantastic piece.  It is pretty light for a 335 at just over 8 pounds, 1 ounce.  It plays superbly and sounds so, so good.

The only change is a possible refret.  I first thought that perhaps someone just dressed the fret ends, taking out some of the binding nibs as there are signs of the application of a file on the edges of the fretboard here and there.  Closer inspection did reveal some fretboard pullout around a couple of the higher frets.

That said, everything else is original and in perfect working order.  The truss rod was checked as well - there is room for future neck relief adjustment.

Our guy, Tim, was able to set the guitar up with killer, low action with the 10-46 strings we applied.

A highly collectable and useable axe that comes with an original hardshell case that shows more wear than the guitar.
