Here we have a really interesting, one-off, 1999 PRS for you.

The guitar was listed at Guitar Center as a McCarty Custom, but under the neck pickup it is called a "ST22FWFTR FOR S. CARNELLI".  We take that to mean that this is a Standard 22, custom ordered for one S. Carnelli in Antique White.  What probably fooled Guitar Center are the McCarty pickups, which are stock - probably part of the custom order request.

Having been a PRS dealer back in the early 2000s, I was used to seeing Standards as the only PRS guitars with opaque finishes.  I also thought the Standard, with its mahogany body and top, was pretty much their best sounding guitar.  I now reserve that for the DGT models that have come through, but there is something about these all-mahogany beasts that just rip.

This guitar was part of a collection of guitars that were bought and stashed.  Most of the guitars were new when added to the collection, and despite the face that it was purchased in 2001 as a used guitar, it is as clean as can be.

The frets show no measurable wear and everything about the guitar is mint with the exception of a little age to the gold hardware, which was definitely an upgrade on the guitar along with the bird inlays.  The guitar set up easily with low, perfect action.

Included is the original case along with all the paperwork that came with the guitar from PRS, though there is no hang tag - perhaps because it was a custom ordered instrument that never hung in a store.

A really nice, one of a kind PRS!
