This is one great guitar! It just sounds incredible with balance, presence and sustain that rival vintage Martins.
The Adirondack spruce top is a big upgrade, and it undoubtedly adds to the sound. Top Bracing is "Adirondack/Scalloped 1/4"/Golden Era" according to the spec sheet we received when we called Martin about the guitar. Back bracing is Sitka Spruce (golden era).
The guitar is in nearly new condition. There are no notable dings or signs of wear.
My past experience as a Martin dealer and someone who has moved through many vintage examples is that acoustics that haven't been played much need some action to "wake up". That is the case for this guitar, and things are going to go from great to outrageous.
While it isn't for everyone, the V neck profile is something I absolutely love. The 1 3/4" nut width is another spec that may take some getting used to for some players, but once you experience it you might not want to go back to 1 11/16". Martin calls the neck shape a "modified V (with) 30s style heel".
Some other appointments: Black ebony heel cap, bone nut/saddle, Brazilian rosewood headplate, black ebony fretboard/bridge pins/endpins, select abalone "Old Style 18" fretboard marker inlays.
This guitar will change what you might think about contemporary acoustic guitars, and it is sure to be an epic family heirloom in the future.
Includes the original hardshell case and paperwork.
