This Fender Mandocaster is in immaculately clean cosmetic condition.  It clearly was used very little.

The serial numbers on these instruments don't mirror any others used by Fender, so there is no way to accurately date if from the serial.  So, going by features is the way to go.  Based on the logo, this item is from 1970 or later.  The case gives a clue as well.  The logo on the case was used from 1968 to 1972.  So, this could be a 1970-72.

One other means of dating the instrument would be the pots.  This is always tricky in this period because most 1970 Fenders have 1966 pots.  However, the pots in this Mando were updated at some point, or at least they appear to be - the codes don't make sense for a 1970.  The work was done perfectly.

There is a stamp under the original pickguard from a local music store that was here for decades - Valley Music of Chico, CA.

Like the instrument, the case is nearly perfect.
