Crafted in Japan during the brand’s golden MIJ era, this vintage beauty pairs an offset semi-hollow basswood body with dual lipstick single-coil pickups for bright, airy highs and piano-like clarity—perfect for alternative, indie, and retro surf tones.

The bolt-on maple neck sports a comfortable medium-C profile and a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard that plays fast and smooth, while the original hardware, vintage-style tremolo, and eye-catching bound top complete the unmistakable ‘90s Surfcaster aesthetic. This guitar was re-wired by the previous owner.  The push-pot control - furthest from the bridge pickup is set to allow the bridge pickup to output when the switch is UP.  When depressed, the pot is a kill switch.  A confusing description of a previous owner's wiring is included, along with a wiring diagram.  All the electronics are original, so it could be put back to factory.

The guitar is in excellent condition with light signs of use.  Its pretty remarkable how new looking the guitar and case are.

There are two shipping cost options for purchases made on our site for these states and those to the east of them: Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas.  Select Standard shipping at checkout and your item will be shipped via UPS three-day-air.  Select Economy shipping and your item will ship via UPS ground.  For Reverb purchases, there is one cost option for these Eastern states and shipment will be made by UPS three-day-air.  Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions.  If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com.  Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
