This is a beautiful example of Fender's mid 50s lap steel, the Champ. Deemed a student model but outfitted with a pickup that has some great tone and desirability.
This steel is 100% original and very, very clean. The pots date to mid 1956. The case is a period correct "knuckle buster" tweed case, named as such as the middle latch is within the perimeter of the handle where you could scrape your knuckles on the latch hardware. Later cases have the latch repositioned. The case is also in super clean condition.
A perfect collection addition if you're looking for a steel that is just about as mint as you'll find.
