This very-early 1966 Strat is a really good one! By early '66 I mean the pots are from 1965 pots and the neck date is JAN 66.
The guitar is very resonant and the weight is just about perfect, but what I think really makes this one sound so great is the pickups, which measure pretty low on output for the period. The result is tone that I'd expect to hear from a Pre CBS guitar.
The only change to the guitar is a set of extra back plate holes. Someone must have lost the original plate, but the one with the guitar is period correct and the screws look correct as well.
All the solder joints are original and there are no other repairs or issues with the guitar.
Frets have been milled before and we just gave it a fresh crown and polish so it plays like butter!
The neck feels perfect and has a nice roll to the edges of the fretboard.
An original case is included.
