This mind bogglingly cool Jazzmaster is a tough one to let go.
The guitar is all original and comes with its original, well-traveled case. Originally exported to Australia, this beauty was purchased there by a traveling businessman, whose info and travel remnants remain therein. Fenders that left the US in this period were coupled with cases from the regional importer/distributor. Also included is the original bridge cover and tremolo arm.
The finish on the guitar is worn appropriately for a guitar that wasn't necessarily coddled, but wasn't abused. A few misguided attempts to conceal wear are present, the addition of some color where finish wear went down to the wood. This is present on the back of the guitar and one spot on the headstock. My thought is that the best fix for this is to play the guitar even more, eventually these spots will wear and disappear.
The neck feels great, and it is dated to late 1963, where other parts and the serial number are all from 1964.
Jazzmasters are on fire right now, and justifiably so. They were under-appreciated for far too long and are now at the forefront with many of our favorite guitar heroes.
