I love player's guitars like this Tele Custom.
The guitar has all the vibe of an original version, but with beneficial changes that make it affordable.
Right off the bat, this Tele beats may from the period with a weight of just 7lbs 9oz.
The body finish is worn just right!
The neck has been refinished in nitro lacquer with the headstock logos left intact. The typical wear and wood discoloration can be seen in places under the new finish, where the old poly finish peeled and dirt got down into the wood.
A professional refret was performed, and the frets show some wear since, but there is a ton of life left and no work is needed to play it right away. And man, it plays killer, and sounds amazing!
The neck pickup is a Lindy Fralin replacement, and the bridge pickup is a Duncan Antiquity. There is no compromise in tone - the guitar sounds amazing! Pots appear to be changed to CTS equivalents. The pickguard is a replacement as well as the knobs. Tuners are original. The bridge is a repro unit. The neck plate is original.
No modifications have been made to the body.
The truss rod has been tested and works great.
Recent Fender hardshell case included.
