Gibson GA-5 1959

This Gibson GA-5 came to me at the recent Mesquite, TX guitar show, brought in by the brother of the original owner, along with a 1957 Les Paul Junior. He recalled that they weren't bought together, so I split the pair up. The Jr is amazing, and is currently available on our site.
The amp is in pretty good shape. The original handle is in place, as is the original Jensen speaker. The transformers are original as well.
We had to change out the pot and re-do some capacitor work that was done previously in a really messy way. No holes were added to the chassis when the prior, ham-handed repairs person got in there, just some bad wiring that was easily reversible.
A new cap can from CE serves as the filter caps. A tone cap was replaced as the lead on the original broke. A couple other electrolytics were updated. The power cable was changed to a grounded one. The original volume pot had previously been replaced with a faulty Alpha pot. A new CTS pot was installed in its place. The tubes were tested and all are quality, old tubes.
The amp runs and sounds just like it should.

Shipping policy:
When you purchase this item you are hereby agreeing to this shipping policy. We remove tubes from amps that could be damaged in shipping. We remove the chassis from some amps so that the large transformers don't damage a chassis or cabinet. We remove heavy speakers from some amps so they don't damage baffles. These cases result in multiple box shipments, and they require the buyer to do some assembly on delivery. We do this because we have experienced shipping issues in the past, and this is our prevention measure. Shipments will require signature on delivery, no exceptions. If there is damage, the buyer must retain all packing materials intact and picture them immediately and send them to sales@maharsvintageguitars.com. Less than 1% of our shipments are damaged in transit, and we are committed to making sure your item arrives safely, but we are taking these additional measures to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
