When we get a Gibson Les Paul R9 I prefer them to be like this one, in mint condition with a stellar top.
This guitar hits all the points, including the fact that all the original paperwork is included. Most of the R9s from this era seem to come in without the certificate of authenticity, which is a hit to value.
Our pictures do not show off the top as it appears in person. I find it to be perfect. It isn't a tiger stripe, and at first glance it is somewhat muted. Walk past it or turn it in your hands and it goes three-dimensional. R9s have a more authentic look and are more desirable with tops like this.
The guitar has been lightly played and very well cared for. The usual areas of wear are void of chips and dings - the edges of the headstock in particular.
And most importantly, this is a killer player that set up perfectly. It is a joy to play and the tone is perfect.
