Hofner President Blonde Round Panel 1956

This 1956 Hofner President is a fantastic piece.  It is a joy to play, and just to look at as well.

The guitar was refretted prior to our ownership, a nice, professional job.  The chunky neck and frets combine to give some amazing playability.  Speaking of the neck, it appears to have had a professional neck reset in the past as well - something all of these old Hofners eventually need.

It is a rare in this configuration in particular - just rare in general.   

Hofner used some fine woods and fine craftsmanship on these early guitars.  The sold, carved spruce top is beautiful. The flamed maple is three dimensional.  And the small details - the inlay work, the nut, the unique tuners- it all comes together in such a unique way.

You get great sound acoustically or plugged in.  It is really fun to play unplugged!

There are no issues whatsoever.  The nut appears to have been reglued, the only other apparent change with the exception of the refret and neck reset.  The truss rod has room for future neck relief adjustment.
