This 1977 Ibanez Deluxe 59er appears to be a one-off version, or at least it is different because it is an early example.  I can't find another with the Super 80, Flying Fingers pickups and the ornate bridge - features that are more indicative of the set neck Artist guitars.

Dating the guitar is possible thanks to the codes on the pickups.  The second digit stamped on the back being a 7 dates the pickups to 1977.

While this isn't the highest-end Ibanez of the period, it is a cool guitar, and it is all original.

We checked the guitar out just as we would a 60s Fender, evaluating it for originality and playability.  The truss rod was checked to make sure there is room for future neck relief adjustments.

The original frets show light pitting and are not in need of work, with plenty of life to last through years of regular play.

The case appears to be an original one for the model, something we had in our stash.  One latch on the case is broken but it securely holds the guitar.
