Marshall 2204S Limited Edition 50 Watt Head Green Tolex 1986

The Marshall 2204S is a small, portable 50-watt beast that was made for just one year in this configuration.  The cabinets were covered in this green tinted, 60s style tolex and you'll see others in standard black tolex.  We actually have a black one coming up soon!

You'll see a pic here with a 4x10 Marshall cab.  It is the perfect pairing.

The amp is all original - no mods or hacked repairs.  The original Drake transformers are in place.  We tested all the tubes and put one new Sovtek preamp tube in there to get it just right.

"I have one of these amps and my opinion is that it is a great amp - if you like other 2204 style amps - because that is what it is.

From what I understand - these were made for a year or so in 1986. They were built to pair with the 1965/1966 cabs that they also paired with the Artist hybrid head. They came in black an dark green tolex, as did the cabs. Internally, they were the same as "large" 2204's of the time.

Maybe it's too small a niche, but I don't understand why these aren't more popular. I can't (and don't really want to) port around a 4x12 cab, but I love the Marshall sound. With a slant 4x10 or 2x12, I get 90% of the tone and even the look, and I can fit it in the trunk of my 4 door sedan."
