This Marshall Model 2100 50 watt JMP MK II head appears to be a real rarity.

The amp bears an inspection label that calls it out as a Model 2100 "Combo".  It was obvious to us on arrival that it has been in this head cabinet forever.  It is my opinion that it was originally ordered as a head rather than a combo.

The 2100 model was a mail-order only model in 1976.  The combo was a Bluesbreaker option that wasn't offered to dealers at the time.  As a result, you don't see very many out there, and if you google it you'll find that Marshall collectors and players chase them for their excellent tone.

The amp sorely needed a new power cable when it arrived here so we swapped it out.  The tubes tested nicely so we left them in the amp.

The tone you get from this amp is outstanding.  There is no master volume, so it reacts more organically, like a late 60s/early 70s JMP with full, bold cleans and gnarly crunch when pushed.

The amp is original with no mods or holes in the chassis.  The unit shows some wear - it was clearly enjoyed and used on stages, but it cleaned up nicely for us and presents really well.

One of the better sounding amps in the house right now!
