This unit just arrived and is sure to leave just as quick - Space Echo units have been pretty much on fire lately.
This example is in very good cosmetic condition, showing a little wear here and there and one spot on the aluminum face plate is bent/distorted.
The unit would benefit from some updating. It definitely needs a new tape - these are readily available. I am tossing around making the purchase of a refub kit that you can find online for about $180 that would go a long way to making the unit really shine. It replaces a bunch of capacitors, felts, a new pinch roller, tape loops, etc etc.
The unit does have some wow and flutter and some fidelity loss that show that a refurb would be a good idea. It does work well however, so you're not buying a dog here at all, just making sure to set expectations.
